GRANTS FOR SWIMMING

ALLOCATION BY COUNCIL. (BY TBLEGKAPH— fKE99 ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Ist July. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, the sum of £110 of the competitive portion of the Government grant was allocated as follows: — Auckland £12 10s, Canterbury £20, Hawkes Bay, £15, Nelson £10, Otago £12 10s, South Canterbury £5, Wellington £15, Westland £5, and Wanganui £15. The £130 of the life-saving portion of the Government grant was allocated as follows for each of the 1910-11 and 191112 seasons: — Auckland, head centre R.L.S.S., £15 each teason; Canterbury, £22 10s and £21; Hawkes Bay, £20 and £19 ; Nelson, £10 for eaca season ; Otago, £20 and £19 ; Sou&h Canterbury Centre N.Z.A.S.A., £5 for each season ; Wellington, £20 and £19 ; Wanganui, £17 10s and £17; Westland Centre N.Z.A.S.A., £5 for 1911-12 season. It was resolved that in cases where the head centres of the R.L.S.S. have given a written authority to the association for their amounts to bo forwarded to the Dominion Executive of the R.L.S.S., the cheques to be made payable to the .order of each head centre that has given such authority and forwarded to the Dominion Executive. It was decided that the next championship meeting be held at Blenheim.
