MOTOR 'BUSES
TO THE EDITOH. Sir,— lf the City Council tries to got a Bill passed through the House giving it power to run motor 'buses on the streets and to try and debar other people running motor 'buses, it will find against it a- monster petition asking the Government not to gice it the power asked for, as wo consider that the Kilbirnie people should have power to run motor 'buses from Coutts-street to Boyd's, and from Coutts-stroet to Newtown. The tram charges us from Coutte-street to Boyd'a Store 2d, and from Coutts-street to Courtenay-place 3d, and if we want to get to Newtown we ha-ve to walk it,' and we consider that South Kilbirnie has been very badly treated all through. Sooner than the council lowering the tram faro between Coutts-street and Boyd's Store it would let the people walk. If the council wants to run motor 'buses let it do so, but not to stop other people from running them, as it has starved the poor expressmen to death by running the j freight car. — I am, etc., j. j.
