PARLIAMENT

TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL The Legislative Council met at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon. Peumission was granted the Hon. 0. Samuel to introduce a private' Bill enabling the Commercial Bank of Australia to issue notes in New Zealand. The Leader of the Council (the Hon. H. D. Bell) presented a return showing the names of all members of the Council from 1854 bo 1912, with dates of their appointment, aad dates on which seal* became vacant. The Hon. J. E. JenMnson explained that when the return was asked for it was with the idea of obtaining a Parliamentary political history. Mr, Bell gave notice of his intention to set up several committees, to confer wHfc. comsnittees of the Lower House with regard to matters of agriculture, labour, etc. 1 (Left sitting.)
