BERKELEY HOTEL BURGLARY

The hearing of tho Berkeley Hotel burglary case has concluded in the Police Court. The accused men— Janiee, Shaman, and Fell— have been committed for trial. [Towers, a porter, was badly knocked about by the burglars, James, another porter, was found gagged and bound, but according to the Public Prosecutor, he was implicated in the robbery. A bag containing £147 was found behind a radiator under which a rat had been ee&n to run. The bag was left by James, who asked to be allowed to resume duty on the morning after tho robbery. Five pounds had been abstracted from the bag, and James, when arrested, confessed that James Sharman and William Fall concocted the burglar j, he supplying tho impression of the safe key in v cftke of soap.]
