WANGANUt, 26th Jane. A Maori named Wilson was charged with using certain language in a public place, and was ordered to pay a £7 fine, and costs, at the S.M. Court this morning. On a further charge of assault, he -was fined £2, and costs, in default 14 days. » GREYMOUTH, 25th June. A batch of five defaulters under the Detence Act were taken away under police escort to-day, en route to Ripa Island, for military detention of 28 days. WAIMATE, 25th June. A revaluation of land in the Waimato County, just completed, shows an in* creuae of £741,468 in the unimproved value. The valuation now is £3,978,014. The last real valuation was made in 1906. CHRISTCHURCH, 25th June. The Pharmacy Board of New Zealand iti a letter to tho president, of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association asks that the names of poisons ased in suicidal poisoning cases should not be published in newspaper reports, but that instead a general term should be employed, such as "disinfectant" or "coal tav products." Mr. P. Selig, president of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association, in reply, promised to take Bteps to bring the matter before the association, seeing that the issue is narrower than when the association was asked to suppress the names of persons in 1911. MARTON, 25th June. Notice has been given to the Crown Law Office of an intended action claiming £2000 damages in respect to the death of the late Mr. E. W. Broad at a level railway crossing on the road at Marton. It is alleged that the view of the approaching train was obstructed, that no sufficient warning whistle was given, and that the speed of the train was excessive.
