TRAINING NOTES
TRACK WORK AT ELLERSLIE (BT TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND , This Day. The weather was beautiful for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. A large number of horses were worked between 6.30 and 11. Kakama finished two lengths in fiont of Tragedy King, Lorremoor being beaten off at the end of a mile on the pand Li lmin 47sec. Monti form went once round inside the grass with assistance at intervals of Golden Gram and Merrimax. in lmin 49 l-ssec. Waimangu galloped a mile on the sand in lmin 6lsec. Toreador went four furlongs on the ?and in 50 3-ssec. Wee Olga went a round inside the grass in Jmin 47 2-ssec. Crloy. with the assistance of Aristocrat over the last six furlongs, went a round of the sand in 2min i l-ssec. First Wairiki was schooled over six hurdles, fpneing well. The Celt went over five hurdles in good style. \\ hn^aweira, Prince Eddie, and Flingot were companions over six hurdles, finishing in that order. It was a good display of jumping. Virtue, Vie, Irish Maid, and Admiral Soult went over five hurdles, the two former pleasing most. Manuwera and Ambergris jumped six hurdles without mishap. Roromai went over two hurdles, but hit the last very hard. . Tofcdko, also Frontino, jumped several hurdles, the latter falling at the third. Oranui went over two hurdles well. GalvAta and Master Leslie jumped six hurdles, the former going best. Lloyds a'lrl Pat went a round of the hurdles, the latter not being of much use to the Great Northern horse. Napper Tandy went over the. big fences in the centre of the course in good style. Paritutu and Strathmoira started or a round of the big fences. The " latter ttrned right over at the first fence, the cod wall, and was very la-mo. Flynn, the rider, was badly cut about the face, and injured his elbow. He was removed to the hospital. It is not thought any bones were broken, but he had a ' miraculous escape. ' Delegate, Hautere, Game, Nape Nape, and Noble went a round of the big country. The two former cleared out from their companions. Delegate jumped well. Hautere hit the wall coming into the straight and lost his rider. Game gave a very poor display. Jim Doolan and Master Phaeton went over five hurdles well. Glenmore, Marton, Powder Fox, Paoli, Lady Georgia. Idealism, and a lot of others did useful work.
