"GOOD MEN"
POLICE CHASE A BURGLAR EXCITING TIME A DESPERATE STRUGGLE. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received May 27, 9.35 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The proprietor of an hotel reported that his safe had been burgled and £60 taken. Detective Head and Constable Scanlon > met the Brisbane train at Too* i woomba, and talkled th*e suspect, who fled along the platform, keeping the officers covered with a revolver. Scanlon dashed in and struck the man with his umbrella, and then fell. Head continued the pursuit, and after a desperate struggle secured the man, who carried a fully loaded revolver. .j The Lieutenant-Governor (Sir Arthur Morgan) and hundreds of passengers watched the chase and cheered the offi* cers, Sir Arthur Morgan lifting his hat and saying "Good men !" The arrested man also congratulated them on their bravery, saying they had faced- what he would not. The missing money was found in the man's possession. §
