THEATRE ROYAL.
At the Theatre Royal this evening there will be a complete change of programme, and several .new artists will appear with the Brennan-Fuller Company. "The Serenaders" will present -a' number of new ■songs and dances, and Mr. Frank Hawthorne, the clever comedian, will appear in an amusing farce, "The New Dressmaker." Other artists include the Harmonious Hux'hams, the four Stagpooles, and "Bendo," the boneless wonder. ' KING'S 'THEATRE. A photo-drama of Parisian life, "Back from the Dead," will form the feature of West's King's Theatre programme, this evening. The picture deals with the adventures of Jean Douglade, who, to defeat the ends of justice, 'allows .the world to believe him dead. Receiving word from the authorities of his death, Madame Douglade accepts a proposal of marriage from her partner. The subsequent scenes are full q{ adventures. Two | Vitagraphs— "Signal of" Distress,'" featuring Florence Turner, and .."Dr. Bridget"—an Edison drama, "lieohie" and an exciting "Five Hundred Mile Motor-Oar Race," are among the ' supporting subjects. PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. The principal item in the current programme at the People's Picture Palace is "Dagmar, or the Brewer's Daughter." The lady falls in love with Bert, a workman, and thereby - incurs , the displeasure of the manager, who is himself enamoured of her. He sets fire to the brewery, and Bert is conspicuous for some brave deeds of- rescue. The police investigate the cause of the outbreak, which is sheeted home to the manager, and he decamps. The fire scene is of a most thrilling description, while, in his efforts to get clear away, the manager drives a motor-car into, the river, suffers the same fate with a motor-cycle, rides a horse over the edge of the wharf, and is at last captured. The picture is excellent in every respect, and 1 has met with a full of public approval. The supporting pictures are »U up to standard. STAR THEATRE., To-night's usual complete change of programme at the Star Theatre will include a Gaumont special "Back from the Dead," described as a powerful, thrilling, and unique series of dramatic happenings. Two, of the Vitagraph Company's productions to*bs shown are "A Signal of Distress," a comedy-drama, and "Dr. Bridget," a straight-out comedy. "Leonie fl is an Editon story, and "Wonderful Motor-car Racing" is spoken df as 1000 feet of excitement. Several comics and sceftics, as 1 "well as the Pathe English Gazette, are included^ ROSENEATH SCHOOL. Complete arrangements have been made "for the opening of the new hall near the Oriental Say tram terminus tomorrow night (Bth April). An entertain^ ment in aid of tha funds of the Roseneath School will be given. "The Magic Ruby,"' an Oriental operetta in three acts, is to be produced by the children, who have had several rehearsals during the past fortnight, under the direction of Misses Davidson and Bird and Mr. R. Darroch (headmaster). The dances have been arranged by Miss May Wilkinson. The hall, which can seat 1200persons, will be formally opened at 8 p.m. by Dr. Newman. The entertainment is to be repeated on Wednesday evening. ST. THOMAS'S HALL. The star picture in the new programme to be presented at St. Thomas's Hall .to-night will be "A, Fire at Sea."
