THE ELECTIONS

GREATER WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION CANDIDATES SELECTED. The members of the Greater Wellington Municipal Electors' Association has decided on the following " ticket," to be 'supported by members at the coming elections : — ' R. A. Atkinson H. Buddie G. Frost H. G. Hill . , T. C. A. Hislop M. F. Luckip Len. M'Kenzie T. Neave W. J. Thompson J. Trevor A. Veitch * R. A. Wright ■ • • Messrs. Frost, Trevor, and M'Kenzie are the only members Of the present council who have been selected by the association. Twelve names only have been published, the association, npt selecting fifteen for^the reason-=-given by the secretary (Mr. ArCus) — that there are three or four other candidates who are bound to get in, but as their views are not exactly eye to eye with those of the association, it was thought better to omit them than to run any risk of upsetting the "ticket." It is claimed by the association that the selected candidates are thoroughly representative of Greater Wellington, and do not represent any particular " class." The association is against any "class" tickets; it was formed for that purpose and to guard the interests of the whole community. Altogether there are thirty-six candidates for seats as councillors. Excluding the twelve mentioned above in the Greater Wellington ticket, their names are : —Messrs. *R. Fletcher, J. E. Fitzgerald, J. Godber J. Fuller, F. Cohen (all sitting councillors) ; W. S. Bedford, E. J. Carey, C. H. Chapman, J. G. W. Dalrymple, W. Dobson, S. Gordon. W. H. Hampton, A. R. Hornblow, Er Kennedy; Dr. ' F. W. Mackenzie/ W. C. Noot, M. J. Reardon, (W«( W« T. Young, A. H. Hindmarsh, E. , Tregear (Labour Party's ticket) ; W. Perry, J. Dykes, C. M'lntyve, and D. Moriarty. Mr. W. H. P. Barber announces, in our advertising columns, that he will be a candidate for re-election. Mr. J. P. Luke, a candidate for the Mayoralty, addresses electors this evening in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall.-
