At Petone on Saturday Mesdames Kirk and Wilkinson, the holders of the Ngaroma Croquet Club's Palmer Ferns, were defeated by the challengers, Mesdames Hope and Bennett. For the trophies allotted for a doubles competition a number of games have been played. Of the ten competing doubles, Mesdames Hope and M'Kehzie Tiave won six games, which places them in a leading position for the trophies. Tho golfing season opens during April.
