Speaking at Sheffield the Right Hon. J. A. Pease, President of the Board of Edtication, said he was introducing in a few weeks education proposals providing for a national system, graded from the cradle to the university. He did not propose td centralise, and accepted the existing principle of local authorities being mainly responsible, but whose powers would be extended. He added that the Bill would not attempt to solve what he considered was •fttt "unsolvable religious difficulty."
