LODGE MEETINGS

There was a good attendance of members, at the Weekly session of the Pioneer Lodge, , No. 11, 1.0. G.T., held in the Rechabito Hall, Manners-street. Bro. 11. J. Millan, C.T., presid«d. On« candidate was admitted to membership. An invitation was received from the Stai* of Newtown Lodge to pay an official visit on the 7th insfc. It was decided to accept it. The 4 ifcem for the evening was "Brothers' _ Night." ■ A programme of songs, recitations, etc., was contributed to by various members, and the brothers also provided refreshments. Greetings from the Wanganui lodges were received and heartily recipVop'ated. Nexi meeting isa "Reunion and invite Rechabites and Sister Lodges." A welUattendcd meeting cf th» Potone Lodge of Good Templars was held in th'n Ranfurly Hall, Sydney-street, Petono, on Wednesday night. Sister Denby, C.T., presided. An invitation was received from tho Star of JNew^Own L'pdge to attend its meeting on Friday night, but as the Juvonilo Temple of Petohe is holding 4 its rally on tho same night, it was decided to attend tho latter. The evoning was in charge of the Mayor, Bro. M'Ewan, who gave some vefy_ interesting short Btories and recitations. Bro. M'Ewan also addressed tho lodge on tho evils of drink. During the oyoning musical items wore given by Sister Bain, Mr. Chamberlain, Bro. Roberteoii, Sister Denby, Bro. P. Townsetid, Sisters Job and Brown. A vote of thanks ■was accorded Bro. M'Ewan at tho cohclusidn of the me.etintf.
