TE ARO HOUSE PICNIC

A trip to Day's Bay on Wednesday last was greatly enjoyed by the employees of To Aro House. The Admiral was chartered for the ocbasion. Lunch Was laid In tho pavilion by Mrsa Cameron, of the Ferry Company. After the toast of "The Directors and Manager" had been honoured, the com', pany adjourned to the sports ground, where various events . were got off. Much amusement was derived from the all-fours, cigarette, catching the morning train' races, and nail-driving competition, which ig always a special feature at a To Aro House pionic. At 5.30 o'clock tea was served, at the close of which the prises were distributed to the following successful competitors : — j Nail J driving competition (ladies), Miss Beaumont 3 hail-driving (gents), Mr. Barnasconi; cigarette race (lady and gent), Mr. Forrester and Miss Henderson ; catching the morning train > (lady *nd gent). Mr. Frost and Miss Playne; ladies race, Miss Taaffe; men's race, Mr. Goodman; Siamese race^ (ladies), Misses Clark© and M'Kay; Siamese race (gentlemen), Messrs. Bernasconi and Pages; &l\-foura {ladies), Miss Elliott; piok-a-back (ladies' and -gents), Mr. Lawrence and Miss M'Kay. At tho conclusion of the pionic a. hearty vote of thank* was passed to the committee.
