TRAWLERS' WAGES
DUNEDIN, 27th February. ■ Mr. J. R. Triggs, Conciliation Commissioner, sat to-day to hear the Dunedin ■ trawlers' dispute. After a. lengthy conference an agreement was , arrived at. The week's work is noU to. exceed 70 hours, and the hours of work <are not to' exceed 12 in any one day without payment for' overtime. A mate or leading deck hand shall be paid not less than £2 10s per week aud found j engineer or man in charge, J33 iOs and found; firemen, ' £2 '75. 6 d and found ; deck hands, £2 ; cook, £2. Satm-day or Sunday shall be observed as a day of rest, and work done on the day of rest shall be paid for extra per hour at rates that shall be equal to the ordinary rates. The award conies into forco on 14th March, and, will. continue in force | until March, 1916.
