JOURNALISTS AND "PREFERENCE"
The Council of the New Zealand Instilute of Journalists has adopted the following resolution ."—"That this council deplores the attempts made by certain journalists to form a close corpora' tion of the profession by insistence on a preference to unionists clause in any fg^etyerjts^witV gropr^etora, such J procedure is an unwarrantable interference with the freewill of men and women en« gaged in an occupation which cannot be subject to cast iron regulation, without detriment to the employers and employees alike."
