The holiday on Wednesday last afforded an opportunity -for Air. Cocks and the workers at the Seamen's Institute to provide an enjoyable day for a large number of seamen from the nine oversea vessels in port. Tho picnic was hold at Khandallalv cricket, football, and sports of all kind* being carriedi on with an amount of. '"Best of which only seamen are rapabl^ ' An pxcollent repasl was served by tho ladies of the parly at 5 o'olock, ancr which a renewal of the sports followed till _ 7 o'clock. An excellent concert was provided at the institute after the return to town. At tho close three; 'hearty cheers were given for the ladies and all thoee who had helped in providing such an Enjoyable time, on the motion of Mr. W. E. Cocks, the missioned; who supervised the arrangements. ,
