NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT. (BY TELEGRAPH— fcRESS ASSOCIATION.) . CHRISTCHURCH, 24th Jan. This morning wa« simply glorious for the fifth day of the bowling tournament. Christchurch green was the locale, where the sectional ties and green finals were completed. There was . a very large attendance of the public to watch the various games, and considerable interest was shown, The play in nearly every case was of a very high order, and in some instances reached the height of perfection. In' the afternoon an adjournment wae made to the .Canterbury green, where the president of the association (Mr. Barnett) and Mrs. Barnett entertained the ladies and bowlers generally. Play did not conclude till 7.45 p.m.. About 6.30 p.m. a fairly heavy shower fell. The following are tho result* :—: — Champion Eink Green /Winner*. Canterbury No. 1 green : Porteous (Wellington), 24,- Ham (North End), Sydenham green (first round) : Woolf (United), 23; Bentley (Dunedin), ,18. Korr I Newtown), 19; Porteous (Wellington), 15. Second round : Kerr (Newtown), 26; M'Donald (Green Island), 15. Woolf (United), 26; M'Lachlan (Taieri), • 19. Final j Kerr (Newtown) and Woolf (United) played 14 heads, when rain stopped further play (Kerr 10, Woolf. 6). The game will be finished to-morrow. M'Donald (Green Island) secured third prize, ' and - M'Lachlan (Taieri) fourth prize. Championship , Doubles, .Semi-finals. Thompson (Wellington), a bye. Rennie (Southland), 27;, Casey (Poneonby), 16. The final between Thompson and Rennie will be held to-morrow. Champion Singles. Sectional tie : M. Walker (PoneonbyV 18; W: Allan (Taieri), 5. First round ; Walker (Ponsonby), 17; M'Lachlan (Taieri), 11. Final: J. J. Bentley (Dunedin), 19; M. Walker (Pqnsonby), 18. F. Smith (Kaituna), A. M'Lachlan, (Taieri) are to play 'in Dunedin for the third and fourth prize. AORANGI v. SOUTH AUCKLAND. ' HAMILTON^ 24th January. The return bowling match Aorangi (South Island) versus Auckland resulted in a win for the former by one point. Scores : 157—156.
