ACCIDENT AT ENERGETIC MINE. (BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) REEFTON, 23rd January. A serious- accident to tho winding gear of the Energetic Mine renders it idle for a week or so. Owing to overwinding tho cage carrying stone caught on the poppet heads, and the rope went back into the engineroom, doing damage. No one fortunately was hurt. The management is taking all the men employed in the Energetic on at the Globe Mine till the repairs aro affected.

Mr. H. Goodwin, late of the Cambridge and Clarendon Hotels, has purchased the > lease of the Imperial Hotel, Cuba-street.
