(BY TELEGRAPH.— PABSS ASSOCIATION.) NAPIER, 16th January. When backing out from the Glasgow Wharf last night a mooring hawser was caught by the propeller, delaying the departure of the steamer Mokoia, for Auckland. Later, a diver was procured, and he released the rope, no damage having been done to the propeller. The steamer 1 got away at 4 a.m. MISHAP TO THE NATAL TRANSPORT. Whilst berthing at Napier some days ago the tramp Bteamer Natal Transport, which has been discharging her cargo of hardwood from Bunbury at various ports round the coast, collided with the wharf, and sustained considerable damage. The rudder was twisted, several frames were damaged, and two counter plates were buckled. Captain Thomas, Who is in command of the vessel, estimates the damage at about £600, and the repairs to the ship Will probably be carried out at Sydney. The damage did not prevent the vessel from unloading, for, from Napier she proceeded to Gisbome, and thence to Auckland, where she is now discharging. The Napier Harbour Board repudiates all liability for the collision, and has lodged a counter claim against the steamer's owners for the damage done to the wharf. THE VANCOUVER STEAMER. Cable advice has been received at Auckland stating that the Zeaiandia, which is coming from Vancouver, will not arrive there until Saturday morning instead of Friday, as previously stated. In the ordinary course the vessel should have arrived yesterday, but she was delayed at the Islands owing to a mishap to the machinery. COMING WITH OIL. At the end of this month the steamer Cape Ffnl6terre, running under charter to the Vacuum Oil Company, should arrive at Auckland from New York with a full cargo of case oil. The oil is consigned to the four main ports, and the vessel should reach Wellington about the Mth February. 'The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu, which sailed for London on the loth January, took the foltowing cargo from Wellington :— 6604 bales wool, 85 casks tallow, 30 casks pelts, 23,218 boxes butter, 1?,122 crates cheese, 888- carcases lamb, 1891 carcases mutton, 63 carcuses tegs, 13 sucks peas, 1134 tins milk, 68 packages general, 3 dogs. From Wei' lington, for Monte Video : 10 sheep, 2 packages general. A steamer has been fixed to load at ttew York for the United Tyser Line, and is to sail for Australian and New Zealand ports' on the 17th February. . The Hansa steamer Barenfels. running under the auspices of the U.S. and A. Line, was to have sailed from New York for Australian ports, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin On Monday, Cth January, Mr. F. W. Jackson has joined the Maheno as chief officer in place of Mr. F. G. Bilton, who came ashore at Auckland for orders. It is reported that arrangements have been completed for the Kwinana, at present berthed at the Railway Wharf, to take a cargo of cattle, etc., from New Zealand to Western Australia. The Tyser liner Whakarua is scheduled to leave London on the 28th January for Australian and New Zealand ports. The Wanaka was recommlssioued at Port Chalmers on Friday, and sailed the following day for Auckland, via Bluff. Captain J. Flynn is hi command, and has associated with him the following officers :— Chief, Mr Peterson; second, Mr R. Clark; third, Mr A. F. Inman. It is reported that the old British ship Grace Harwar, a vessel of 1877 tons register, and now bound from the West Coaßt of Australia, has been sold to Scandinavians for £7500. This evening the Corinna will leave Wellington for Nelson, New Plymouth, and Onehunga. At the latter port she will load 18,000 boxes of butter for transhipment into Home steamers at Wellington. Captain P. C. Ross, who has been on holiday leave in Tasmania, has rejoined the Talune us master.
