Colonel MacDonough, of the War Office, in his evidence before the Parliamentary Select Committee which is enquiring into the contract between the Post Office and the Marconi Company, said that the installation wa« regarded as urgent in 1910, owing to Germany's intention to instal long-distance wireless to link Germany with Weet Africa. The position was even more urgent now.
