CANADA'S GREAT GIFT BRITAIN MUST HAVE MARGIN OF SUPERIORITY DREADNOUGHT STRENGTH ,OF THE NATIONS. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. OTTAWA, 6th December. The Admiralty memorandum gives the Dreadnought strength of Europe as follows :-— 1912. 1915. Great Britain 18 35 Other nations 19 61 The memorandum adds that Great Britain will be able, by making special arrangements, to send a portion of its fleet to co-operate with the Australian Navy and the China squadron to defend, if necessary, New Zealand, Australia, and British Columbia. With the growth of the German navy and the navies of other PoWers, this ability is, however^ being greatly restricted, and a greater margin of British superiority wolild restore the mobility of the fleets and enable them to guard the distant seas in the future as at present. The debate on the proposals has been fixed for Thursday.
