WHAT DOES GERMANY WANT?
In his recently published book, "What Germany Wants," Mr. W. N. Willis expresses the opinion that Germany has designs upon the South American Republics. The Dutch, reflecting that Germany's ftew ships are designed foT service iii home waters, are iiot quite sure of their own future peace. Turning to the East, one has the immense world of China. It can hardly be that Germany hopes to outstrip the other, five Powers in their Westernisation of China. Is Morocco or Egypt an objective? Or,' after all, is Germany's desire simply to increase her armaments bo as to be independent of future diplomatic combinations that conceivably might be used against her? This can 'only T>e answered by Germany, and the German Emperor is in no hurry to declare his intentions.
