The Prime Minister, Mr. Andrew Fisher, was questioned to-day in the House of Representatives whether action would be taken on the Sugar Commission's report. He replied that he had communicated with the Governments concerned, ' making certain proposals with a view to legislative action. LEGISLATION THIS SESSION. COLOURED LABOUR (Received December 6, 11 a.m.) , MELBOURNE, This Day. Speaking in the House, the .Premier (Mr. Andrew Fisher) stated that he had communicated with the various Governments in reference to the Sugar Commission's report, and had asked £hem to take action. If the Premier of Queensland complied with his request, a Bill dealing with the matter would be introduced during the current session. BRISBANE, This Day. The Premier (Mr. Denham) announced that Mr. Fisher had advised that theFederal Government proposed to introduce Bills this session to abolish the Sugar Excise and Bounty Acts, also coloured labour. He had much pleasure in complying with the request to introduce legislation dealing with coloured" labour. He sincerely trusted' tho Commission's proposals would end the unrest and ensure the stability of the industry.
