VIOLENT ATTACK *ON MONTENEGRINS. (Received December 5, 8.10 a.m.) CETTINJE, 4th December. Turks sortied violently and attacked the. Montenegrin positions, but were repulsed with many dead. A PITCHED BATTLE IN TORRENTIAL RAIN. GROUND STREWITwiTH CORPSES. (Received December 5, 8.5 a.m.) CETTINJE, 4th December. A sortie on the left flank early on Monday gradually developed into a pitched battle, which lasted for twenty-eight hours in spite of torrential rain. When the Turks left the entrenched cover, the Montenegrins held their fire, j then the rifles, and artillery and machineguns decimated the Turks ranks. The artillery on both sides was engaged throughout the night. The ground was strewn with corpses. Shells did great damage to the town, fire breaking out at several points. The people were panic-stricken. The Montenegrins' losses wero small. CHATALDEJA WOUNDED EXCELLENT WORK BY RED CROSS NURSES. INDICATIONS OF DUM DUM BULLETS BEING USED. In Vienna it is reported that three thousand Greeks attempted to enter Seres, On the railway from Salonika to Constantinople, but the Bulgarians repelled them, killing 250.
