(Note—Quotations, unless otherwise specif*jd, are average market prices on spot) ; — Mutton. — The market is quiet. Canterbury 44d per lb, North Island 4Jd, River Plate 4id. P Lamb. — There has been no alteration in the market since laat week. Canterbury s§d per lb, other than Canterbury s£d. # Beef.— The market is dull ; supplies are increasing. New Zealand hinds 3|d per lb, tot*& 2Jd. v Butter.— The market is very firm for best quality. There are large stock 6of butter of second.-cla«s quality in cold store. Danish 131* per c«[t; .Siberian Il2e, Australian 115s, New .Zealand (nominalj 1245. • *Cheese,--The ■majtfet is quiet; small business doing. Canadian, white 64s 6d per owt, coloured 65s 6d. ' Wheat.'— The market is quiet. New Zealand long-b«*ried wheat, ex granary, per quarter of 4961b, »9s 6d; short-ber-ried, 395. . ( ' Oate.— The market is dull; very little business doing. New Zealand short (Sparrowbillfl), ex granary, per quarter of 3841b, 26s 6d. Beans.— The demand is improving, but prices are unchanged. New Zealand, f.a.q. (new crop), per 5041b, 38s 6d. Peas. — The market is firm, but demand only moderate. New Zealand peas (Partridge), per 5041b, 40s 6d. Linseed.—The market is dull and unsettled. Bombay 60s 9d, Calcutta 60s, Piste 565. Cocksfoot Seed. — The market is very dull.
