The Mayor presided at a Liquor Law Reform Convention, at which it was reI solved to favour confining the sale ot liquor to the hours between 8 o'clock in the morning and 9 o'clock at night. A resolution was also passed favouring the non-employment of barmaids other than those at present employed. STEAMER ASHORE m IN AN EXPOSED POSITION. The steamer Hanau, from Hamburg to Sydney, is ashore in an exposed position at Katakolon, Greece. [The Hanau, a steel screw steamer of 4213 tons gross, was built in 1907. She is owned by the German- Australian Company, her port of entry being Hamburg.]
