ANOTHER OUTBREAK AT FOXTON TWO BUILDINGS DESTROYED. [RZ TELEGRAPH— I'jRBSS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N., This Day. There was another blaze at Foxton yesterday morning, when two shops werej completely destroyed, namely, P. Rimmer's store and a Chinese fruiterer's shop. Rimmer's was an old but large building, and was well ablaze when discovered. The fire soon spread to the Chinese shop, which was gutted. Whyte's Hotel, menaced by two previous fires, was again in trouble, but though the walls Were scorched and the windows cracked, no further damage was done. The insurances are: — Rimmer's store, in the New Zealand office, £250 ; Fimmer's stock, in the New Zealand office, £750 ; Chung Wall's building, £850 in the South British office ; plate glass, £30 in the South British ; Chung Wall's stock, in the London and Lancashire, £600. Total, £2480. TAIHAFE, This Day. Fire" totally destroyed a four-roomed cottage and contents, owned and occupied by Mr. Baird, manager of the Manawatu Company's sawmill. Baird was recently married, and his furniture, valued at £220, was all lost, and was uninsured. The cottage was insured for £72 in the . New Zealand office. There was no one in the house after early morning, and the fire was discovered about midday, when it had got too far to allow of salvage.
