CONSIDERABLE OUTCRY IN SYDNEY

AMENDED EARLY CLOSING ACT. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. , # SYDNEY, 20th September. There is a considerable outcry over some of the provisions of the amended Early Closing Act, particularly that by which butchers are not allowed to open late on one night weekly. Hairdressers and tobacconists are allowed one late night, but all others must close at 7 o'clock except chemists, who may remain open on one night till 9, and on the other nights till 6 o'clock. In each case a weekly half-holiday is provided for.
