MANAGERS' REPORTS. Waiotalii. — The shaft is down 48ft below No. 7 level, or 576 ft from the surface. The reef met with in . the shaft during the week is about 18in in width, and carrying a little mineral, but no gold has been seen. It will no doubt prove to bo the cross reef which was intersected in the No. 7 level crosscut some time ago. At the 1000 ft level the main crosscut is in 742 ft in the Waiotahi .ground, or a total of 2335 ft from the shaft. The country is somewhat changeable, and again requires the timber being kept close up to the race. The work of driving the Victoria crosscut has been commenced by Graham and party. Kuranui. — The drive on the footwall lode is in 17ft. The quartz broken looks well, and still carries minerals of a favourable class. This lode appears to be portion of the main reef, as in driving the last few feet it has been dipping towards the point where it was disturbed by the break in the main level. This face will, be kept going with one shaft for the present, and another will bo pub on to drive near the break in the main level. Watchman. — The north rise in the intermediate level is up 23ft. The reef is 15in wide, and for the last few feet j risen has shown gold more freely than hitherto. The level at 70ft is in 130 ft 9in. Four men have been engaged breaking out a leading sjope. In the N.W. crosscut, at a distance of 36ft from the «ide of the drive, quartz was bored into, and penetrated for sft, with no hanging wall. The ore is heavily charged with ainc blend and sulphides, in which gold can easily be seen. No. 4 rise is up 26ft. The quartz is divided into two, parts by sandstone of the very best class. The quartz measures about 4ft wide, and should prove of good grade, as gold can be seen in the stone.
