The following promotions in the Defence Force have been approved :—: — sth Regiment (Wellington Rifles).— Lieutenant Rogers William Wilkinson, to bo captain, vice Columb, transferred to Reserve of Officers. The undermentioned second-lieutenants to be lieutenants : John Richftioud Cowles, Guy Campion Felton, David Alexander Kenny. New Zealand Staff Corps. — Lieutenant (temporary captain) Donald Poison, D.5.0., retires on account of ill-health, with the rank of major, which he held in the New Zealand Militia. 1 The Governor has been pleased to approve of the formation of a Coast Defence Detachment of the 4th Regiment (Otago Rifles), consisting of four infantry companies, with headquarters at Dunedin. Tho establishment of officers will be as follows : — Lieutenant-colonel (D, majors (2), captains (3), lieutenants (4), second-lieutenants (4).
