Tho country folks had to bo' studied, 110 thought the motion should bo thrown oul, and another of 11 national form should bo substituted. Mr. T. K. Sidey, M.P.(Sfc. Kilda) said ho hoped the conference would not go back on its provious decision in favour of tho principle of local markets. Municipal markets would bo an advantage to tho consumer, us thoro would bo better distribution, cheapening the product. Mr. H. J. Otloy (Christchuroh) said it was not ono bit of u«a providing a markofc unless they could secure its proper employment. Mr. Wilson, in reply, said that tho conditions in Dunodin wore uuoh as to fully .justify the establishment of markets in the interest of the public. The motion was carnod by & largo majority.
