' >.< ... 10 0 Total to 1 - date ... -...£24 15 0 As the late Ambrose M'Kay (who was killed last Friday) was a member of the Presbyterian Church, representations regarding the widow's position were made to the Rev. W. Shirer, of St. James's "Church, Wellington South. Mr._ Shirer communicated with the Corporation authorities, with tbe result that the Town Clerk has agreed to receive any contributions in aid of the widow and child. By way' of increasing the funds, Mr. J. Lewis, secretary of the Corinthians Football Club, in endeavouring to arrange a match between teams composed of players who have represented Association football clubs in England and Scotland. The late Mr. Ambrose M'Kay was a prominent Association footballer, and was one of the promotors of the Corinthians Football Club. Application is to be made to the Wellington Rugby Union for fche use of the Athletic Park on a Wednesday afternoon, as it is desirous of having the game played on that ground. Arrangements are also being made for an entertainment to be held in the Adelphi Theatre on the same date as the match is to take place. The proceeds will be handed to the Evening Post, for equal distribution between the two widows. Mr. J. Lewis is secretary, and Mr. W. Duncan, treasurer of the W.F.A., will ■ •act. as treasurer.
