"GRAFT" CHARGES THE MURDER OF ROSENTHAL

Police-Lieutenant Charles Becker was named by Hermann Rosenthal as the silent partner in his gambling house. Becker has been arrested and charged with the murder in the first degree of Rosenthal. He pleaded not guilty. [Rosenthal, a noted gambler, who recently charged the New ¥ork police with "graft" in connection with gambling dens, was murdered about three week 3 ago. Police connivance in the murder was alleged, a<nd subsequently the district attorney announced that every man participating in the murder had teen located except one, a chauffeur. Tho case revealed the existence of unparalleled corruption in the Police Force.]
