MINING MEWS MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Old Hauraki.— At the 400 ft level the rise is up 18ft. The reef is up to 12m in vtfidth, and looks promising for gold. Driving on the reef started to-day. Al the 300 ft level the seaward face is along 448 ft. The reof is up to 9m in width, and carries colours of gold. Stoping : No. 4 block, two stopes being worked, and pieces of picked stone are being 6elected. Occidental.— Bft. have been driven south during the past week on No. 2 reef, making a total of 153 ft from No. 1 crosscut. This drive is being continued on the main branch, which is making stronger. For the last 20ft the reef is 1 dipping in the opposite direction to what it was following previously. Tho face o* the second stope is now 50ft from the north end, and the reef has shown gold nearly all the way. The ore broken this week showed good dabs of gold freely, and a little picked stone was selected.
