TERRITORIAL COURT-MARTIAL
GISBORNE, 10th July. A Territorial Court-martial was conducted at Gisborne to-day. Ten privates from A squadron, Ninth Wellington East Mounted Rifles, were arraigned on charges of defiance of authority, In failing to number-off when requested to do so. Four of the ten were also charged with using obscene language. The proceedings were conducted with tho ceremony of the Supreme Court, counsel ap- I peanng in wig and gown. Major Maidlaw presided. ; Lengthy evidence was taken, and the : verdicts arrived at will be submitted to the officer commanding the district for confirmation, and announced later. WAD3OA, 10th July.
