A •meeting of men last week threatened "more drastic steps" if recognition of the federation was refused. A further meeting of- the men will be held immediately to decide upon' a course of action. ARBITRATION COURT THREE AWARDS. DUNEDIN, 10th July. _ The following awards by the Arbitration Court were filed to-day:— Dunedin and Mosgiel Woollen Mills employees:— Weekly hours, 48; overtime, tim© and a quarter for the first lour hours, and time and a half after that } double time for Sundays and' holidays. Wages for girk : First year, 8s pei- week j second year, 11s j third year, 14s ; fourth year, 20s j thereafter a minimum of 255. Wages for boys and 1 youths : From 14 to 16 years, 11s per week; 16 to 17 14s; 17 to 18, 17s 6d ; 18 to 19, 22s 6d ;19 to 20, 27s 6d ; 20 to 21, ' 255 ; and thereafter a minimum of 455. Boys and youths, night work: 16 to 19 years of age, 265 ; 19 to 20, 30s ; 20 to 21, 37s ;* and thereafter 48s. For male workers over 21, the following minimum rates have been fixed : Wool sorters, 50s j, turners, 56s j warpers, 565 ; pattern weavers, 48s ; swinters, 80s ; carpenters, 60s ; and blacksmiths, 60s ; all other workers 455. The award will expire on 6th May, 1914. Otago Timber Yards and Sawmiller*: Hours of work, 44; overtime, time and a quarter for the first four .hours and time and a half afterwards 1 , with double t time for Sundays, Good^ Friday, and Christmas Day. Minimum rate of wages : . First sawyer, Is 4d per hour ; other sawyers, Is l£d ; tailers, Is ; firstclass machinist, Is 4£d ; second-class, Is j 2£d ; other workers at machines, 1b ; I head yardman, Is 4£d ; order man, Is lid; yard, mill, and factory labourers, \ Is ; wood turner, Is 3d ; spoke turners and finishers, Is Ud ; and sash and door hands, Is 2d. Wages for youths run from 12s 6d-, with a 3s rise for the first 12 months, up to 18 years of age, then a rise of 5s for 12 months up to 21 year*. Wages of youths or lads employed as apprentices, 10s per week for first year, 15s for second, 20s for third, 25s for fourth, and 30s for fifth. The award | will terminate on 10th May, 1914. Dunedin United Furniture Trade. Hours of labour, 44 per week ; minimum wage of journeymen cabinetmakers, etc., is Is 4£d per hour, and timber stackers and other labourers Is. Overtime on Sundays, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Labour Day, Christmas Day, Boxing .Day, and weekly halfholiday to be paid for at the rate of time and a half.
