MEETING AT INVERCARGILfc. [BI TELEGRAPH — PBESS ASSOCUtION.J INVERCARGILL, 28th June. At a meeting of tho Invercargill branch of the New Zealand Railway Officers' Institute to-night, the following resolutions were passed :■— (1) That thia meeting strongly protests against the utter, failure of the present Minister for Railways to carry out the findings of the responsible Parliamentary Committee of: 1911, after an exhaustive hearing, on the petition precented by the New Zealand' Railway Officers' Institute, and thus allaj* present unrest and discontent, which exists amongst members of ihe division. (2) That this meeting fully supports the executive in again petitioning Parliament, asking that tho recommendation of the last Railway Committee be fully considered by the present Government, .and given effect to, and express our entire confidence in the executive in any actionthey deem fit to take. (3) That. thi» meeting, feeling that the present manage* meut is opposed in every way to tho welfare of members of Division 1, view with alarm the readiness of the Hon. the Minister for Railways to accept, the statements and figures supplied by the department in preference to statement** ami figures carefully and accurately prepared, aiid submitted by the executive of the New Zealand Railway Officers' Institute. (4) That in view > of the utter failure of the Hon. the Minister for Railways to make any reasonable provision to carry out the findings of the Parliamentary Committee, this meeting eucgeete'to the Exodutivo Council tht advisability of going into the matter of joining hands, with the Unity of Labour party.
