THE STATE EXAMINATION. The following candidates were successful in passing tho recent State examination tor the registration of midwives. Ainsworth (relieving), N. G. Harris (typiste), and C. Henderson (student). To-morrow, at 1, at the Fruit Exchange, Blair-street, Messrs. Thompson Bros., Ltd., will cell on behalf of Mr. A. M Millan, Blaokbridge, a selection of trees, etc. The ueual change of programme will take place at the King George Theatre, Lower Hutt, to-morrow evening, when an all new programme will.be presented. "The Lighthouse by the Sea," a dramatic production by the Edison firm, will be the principal attraction. It is described as a sensational drama of more than ordinary merit. A late edition of the Pathe Gazette will- al«> be included, as well as some high-class dramatic, scenic, and comio films. A "big star" will be shown on Saturday. Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. will hold a sale of household furnishings in their' rooms tomorrow, afc.l o'clock. On Thursday morning, at 11 o'clock, on the premises, No. 1, Aorangi-terrace, off Tma-kori-road (opposite Hawkestone-sreet), they will hold a sale of household furniture, the contents of six rooms. On Thursday, at 1.30 o'clock, in their rooms, they will sell by auction Mr. W. B.i Hardy's nursery stock. Messrs.
