RECIPROCITY

CANADA AND AUSTRALIA. FAVOimAHLE~~?ROGRESS OF NEGOTIATIONS. By Telcsrapfi^Preu Association.— Copyright. LONDON. 12th June. The Hon. G. E. Foster, Canadian Minister for Trade, is now in London. In tlie counse ot an interview, he mentioned the favourable progress of reciprocity negotiations between Canada and Australia. Ho regretted Sir .Joseph Ward's resignation from the Imperial Trade O'ommiesion, as he regarded him as an enthusiastic supporter of preference. There was no question at present in Canada regarding tho maintenance of preference; but there would come a time when men would ask whether preference should all be given on one side.
