M'Gralh for certain purchasers, and Mr. W. Jackeon and Mr. O'Dounell, (Nativo agents) for some Taraiiaki natives. The block, Mr. Beere explained to the Court, had originally been awaa-ded in 1847 by Colonel M'Cleverty to certain natives belonging to the Ngatihawirikura U-ibe, in consideration of their chief (Whafe-poui-i) having ceded Wellington to the Crown. The Court then proceeded to ascertain who were the living representatives of the tribe, and eventually all the natives interested came to' an amica-ble agreement ub to the partition of the block.
