TO CORRESPONDENTS.
"Sailor."— The Loch Ard, C 23 tons, was wrecked on the Ist June, 1878, at the Caves, one I mile east of Sherhrooke Creek, 14 miles from Moonlight Head, near Cape Otway, Victoria. All the passengers and crew with tho exception of Miss Edith Carmichael and Thomas R. Pearce, apprentice, were droimed. In recognition of his heroic «nd successful efforts to save Misb Carmlchael, Pearce waa presented with a gold watch and chain, the Victorian ttoyal Humane Society's medal, and A large sain of money subscribed br the public in sixpenny subscriptions.
