FOOTBALL.

WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Mr. E. 0. Hales presided at last night's meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington RugbyUnion. Also present were : Messrs. D. Weir^F. C. Atkinson, A. 0. Kitto. W. Hardham, E. A. Daweon, W. Perry. It is anticipated that the union will make a substantial profit over the Poverty Bay- Wellington representative match. The manager of the visiting team forwarded an account of expenses, for which payment was passed. The insurance of the players was added. Notification was received from the New ZeaJand Bugby Union, that it had decided to alter the rates of interest on the loan to the Wellington Union as follows: — 2£ per' cent. p.a. on / £IOOO, and 4 per cent. p.a. on the balance. It was decided to replay the Wai-wetu-Southern (fourth-class) match, owing to the blowing of a whistle on the side-lines in the game previous. A referee, A. E. Neilsen, reported that he had to caution J. Peak, of the Southern team, for in&olence; ako J. Mears, of the same team, for unnecessary handling of opponents. Mr. Neilsen also reported that he had to give a general caution to the Southern forwards for unnecessary kicking and general roughness. Peak, it wae reported, aggravated his case by refusing to give hie name. It was decided to refer the matter to the Southern. Club.
