♦ [SI ±B«6GBAPK+-3PKCIAIi TO THI POST-J MASTERTON, This Day. A motion was recently brought up at the Masterton Borough Council in reference to the formation of a town beautifying society. A public meeting was convened for Tuesday evening for the pur11 pose of forming a society.. The meeting wao marked by the utmost enthusiasm, and a strong committee was set up. It was decided that the society begin work 'tft once at Kuripuni and the northern approach to Lansdowne. The citizens in these suburb^ are to be asked to give assistance. The recently-formed Masterton Honorary Territorial Association held a wellattended meeting lost evening 1^ th© Mayor, Mr. J. M. Coradine, presiding. Those present formed themselves into a canvassing committee for the enrolment of members, and to report progress at a future meeting. Rules governing the association were drawn up and adopted. It was decided to endeavour to get Major-General Godley to visit Masterton at an early date and deliver an address in connection with the scheme. A large number of new 'members were enrolled. The association promises to become a very powerful body.
