A local coal agent informed a reporter fo-day that he was experiencing groat difficulty at present in securing sufficient j coal to supply orders. Customers in several cases woro taking doublo and treble- the quantities usually ordered, to be on the sufo eide, should the Moderation oi Labour call the miners out on •strike. All tho mines in Otago are I working at high pressure trying to keep pace with the demand.
