General Bernhardi has given a warning regarding the defencelessness of the Gex--man position at Shantung. He declares that when the negotiations between; France and Germany concerning Morocco were at a critical stago, tho British fleet was awaiting orders from London to attack the German settlement at Shantung. The present anarchy in China, adde the General, make* the question one of urgency in view of a possible European, scramble for spheres of interest in that country.
