" Bill," the anarchist, who escaped after killing Blanchet in revenge for causing the arrest of Renert, a member of the Bonnot gang, was recently arrested and released for hick of evidence. Blanchet was courting a young dressmaker, who was lodging irf Renert's house, and it was the dressmaker who really informed the authorities. The police believe that a secret conclave of Nancy anarchists decreed that Renert should be avenged. Blanchet wae lured to a lor»ely part of a road, where Bill fired at him, but missed. Blanchet fled, and a tram car conductor saw him running and signalling wildly, but did not stop because it was not the usual halting-place. Bill finally shot Blanchet with a revolver. Foresters and soldiers are surrounding the forest of Hay, where it is believed Bill is hiding.
