KAIAPOI, FROM NEWCASTLE.
The Kaiapol arrived at Dunedin at 10 a m. on Saturday from Newcastle direct. Captain 0. M. Uuxtou reportb that the vesstl .left Newcastle afc noon on the 25th April with a full cargo of coal for Dunedin direct,' ami after clearing the land bhe ram into a heavy gale from the south, changing to W S.W. with very high, confused teas. At times the Kale raged witii such fury thai the vessel had to be liovc-to frequently. The decks were almost continually awash, but although many heavy sens broke on board no damage was done, and the Kaiapol came into port none the worbe for lier rough handling. Captain Ruxtou reports that while the Kaiapoi waß coming over trom Newcastle the barquentiue Senorita was. ob^eived 'hove-to during the gale. A sharp look-out was kept during the voyage for any possible sign of the dredge Manchester, but nothing was seen of her.
