The quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of tho bulk of the shipments now on the market) The prices which follow are on the average a farthing per lb more than the values ex ship, this difference representing an average cost in expenses, handling, conveyance, and selling the meat. Mutton.— North Island best, 3|d per lb ; Australian, heavy 3 5-16dj South American, heavy, 3>id. Lamb. — Canterbury, light", s}d ; medium, 5 11-16 d; heavy. sgd ; North Island, best s§d, ordinary ft 7-16 d; Australian, best s^d, fair quality sd, in» ferior 4|d.
