/ Mr>W. G. Rictdell, S.M.. presided at j. iie Magistrate's Court to-day. [ Maggie M'Neill, an old offender, who j had Jcnrportuned' passers-by in Ghuznee--was sent to prison for one Kmonthi. A fine -of £3 was imposed on George 'iLucas for drunkenness and breaches of £<a«prolribition order. Chaades Henry Speakman was fined *"£2 far assaulting William Ward, and 5 ordered- to pay witnesses' expenses (8s). WilKam _ Phelan, a stowaway on the UtMannganui from Sydney, was convict-y-ed, and ordered to pay the amount of ptfae fare from Sydney (£4 4o). 1 . -Rf>» eri Burke, charged with theft of (Hhree brief bags from Leah Helper, j -was remanded for sentence until tormorrcw. Accused took the bags from v outside Mrs. Helper's shop, and sold (♦two of- them to other dealers.
