PARLIAMENTARIANS CHARGED WITH DRUNKENNESS. By Telegraph.— Pi-eb's Assoclalion.—CopyrighV. LONDON, 24th April. In the House of Commons Mr. 1. Z. Malcolm (Unionist member for Croydon) called attention to a 'speech by Mf ; Pointer (Labour member for Attorcliffe) at the Croydon temperance council to tho effect that he saw the leaders of both ,«ides in the House drunk during an important debate. Mr. Pointer stated that he did not desire to answer 'a charge based on an inaccurate report. Mr. Malcolm retorted that Mr. Pomter had told him he was not going to run. away from his statement. Mr. Pointer did not answer this, and the Speaker *>aid tliat if tJio report was anything like correct it was grossly offensive. It was, however, also ludicrous, and tho House could form its own judgment.
